Menopause-awareness.com is an independent website providing up-to-date, accurate information and research about andropause, peri menopause and menopause, menopausal symptoms and providing a wide range of workplace options for businesses – owners, directors, and line managers.

We deliver progressive, specialised ‘Menopause in the Workplace’ training sessions, in person via conference-based sessions or online via webinar workshops for businesses only.

Our role is to support and protect businesses and minimise the risk that menopausal employees could present as employment and disability laws change in forthcoming years.

Our core aim is for every UK employer of people to be Positive About Menopause (PAM) as we honestly feel it is the biggest employment law risk to any business over the next 5+ years.

With several of the 37 known symptoms already being recognised under the Disability Act 2010 – which states “a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities” – So it is only a matter of time before menopause generally becomes a recognised as a disability in the UK and legal claims against companies will significantly rise.

Let us help your business retain skilled and experienced female talent.

Here on our website and via our resource library, you will find information on what happens leading up to, during and after the menopause, what the consequences can be, what you can do to help, what ‘reasonable adjustments’ are needed in the workplace and what treatments are available.

Collectively, the impact of menopause on women can have a direct and an organisation-wide impact on talent retention, productivity and on employer brand. Closer integration between diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) and wellbeing strategies enables better alignment with your wider business goals.

Such menopause awareness improves employee engagement and working culture. If menopausal women are supported at work, working relationships and review structures can help reveal even subtle changes in performance and behaviour in the workplace.

After years of silence, the menopause has become high profile. However, the influx of information and misinformation can be overwhelming and confusing, and there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution.

With approximately 13 million women in the UK either peri or post-menopausal, it’s vital we establish the fact from the fiction and continue the menopause conversation in our workplaces.
